Normally when we hear of such tragedies on television, we empathize for a brief moment for the family and then change the channel. However, when the news is related to the viewer in any way whatsoever, the impact is on an entirely different plane. We pause in disbelief, absorbing the shock for at least two minutes before we burst into tears. Drop by drop, the tears roll down and fall on the carpet floor. Grasping a hold of reality once again, we dash to the telephone and dial up the direct family members. Conveying our condolences, we vocally attempt to comfort the newly turned widow who is still unable to mentally comprehend the gravity of the recent occurrences. Asha Auntie, still in disbelief of what just happened, has not slept since Friday night. Her eyes are swollen from excessive dehydration and her entire body is weak from malnourishment over the entire weekend. Her two sons, Ankur and Ashish Agrawal, both Harvard students, surround her and hold her hands, trying their level best to stop her from crying and coaxing her to eat something. She gesticulates a refusal to their pleas, shaking her head in persistent dismay.
What a brutal way to pass away. Murdered in a homicide, Sid Agrawal, CEO of SiPORT was shot twice in the occipital lobe, attempting to defend himself under a table. Jing Hua Wu, the perpitrator responsible for this tragic event, was arrested at 10:30, Saturday morning. The entire family has been brought to relative ease by this fact -- they no longer have to worry about the justice portion of the crime. The entire house is surrounded by a veil of lugubriousness; just entering the neighborhood, one can feel the sadness pervading through the atmosphere. If only capturing the criminal could reverse the crime.
